款式:“立领、对开襟、连肩袖”,分为直下摆与圆下摆,一字盘扣外套,内搭(立领)重磅真丝衬衫。;

面料:“提花万字纹宋锦面料”;

花纹:下摆“海水江崖纹”上衣;

Where should we go

Recently, I read an article named “Get away from your hometown which be doomed to decline” from WeChat. Many friends of me transmitted this article at the same time thought it is meaningful. So What this article told on earth? Let me do some introduce. This article gave those people who still struggle for better life in big cities a reason why they should insist by listing the data of population migration and labor force distribution in china nearly twenty years. More and more labor force will concentrate in the big cities, i.e, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. The author believes the ecology of the small cities will decline because of the shortage of labor force in future. People will get nothing if they choose to go back home and their children also won’t get wonderful future, who be doomed to get away from their declining hometowns and struggle in the big cities when they grows up. So the best choice for the young is to work harder and harder to be one of the big city formally one day. It’s not wrong, right?

As we can see, the background of this article is urbanization, which is viewed as the necessary trend of a developing country, but there’s no doubt that numerous problems should be faced by the young in China’s urbanization, such as the high house price, the education of children, the quality of life and so on. So the question about where to go after graduating from university has became a hot topic among people, especially among the young and heated debates are right on their way. To be honest, the question also confuses me. On the one hand, my mom wants me to find a steady work and then live a comfortable life in future, so she wants me to go back to

our hometown, where I can realize these aims easily. On the other hand, I have made up my mind to struggle for my own future in a first-tier cities since I was in high school. Although I have changed a lot during my growth for I begin to know how cruel the reality is, at least I don’t want to go back home now. In my view, it must be a common consideration for young people in this time because it’s the reality and nobody can avoid it.

Now let’s get back to consider this article carefully. From my point of view, I don't fully agree with the author's point. The only way for the young is not to get away from their hometown, to say at the least. I have listed my own reasons.

First of all, the big cities have gathered overmuch labor force at the present stage. Many aspects have emerged the phenomenon of “demand exceeds supply”, such as the the market of labor force, the urban traffic, the public medical treatment, the education resource and so on. I won’t forget the horrible stampede in Shanghai last year. Although I am not a Shanghainese, I also think there are overmuch people in shanghai. And the environment carrying capacity is what we often overlook during the urbanization. A telling example is our capital Beijing is suffering the haze, even a new word “APEC Blue” has been used to describe something transitory. All of these are challenging the big cities. I think what the big cities should do is not just expanding their scales by gathering more and more people, on the country, they should control the population size properly and improve the urban construction.

More importantly, I don’t think everyone’s hometown is doomed to decline. At least my hometown isn’t. The author just listed the former data ab

migration and labor force distribution, and then he got the conclusion: “Everybody’s hometown will decline because of the shortage of labor force.” As I see, the author made a mistake which is called “wrong direction”. He just emphasized the shortage of labor force in the small cities, but he overlooked what the industrial transfer will bring. All things will change, with the higher cost of manufacturing and the demand for development in big cities, industrial transfer is the necessary trend. Then it brings a lot of chance to the lower-tier cities, more demand for labor force will improve the people’s income, more income will motivate the consumption and then drive the local economy. Moreover, lower-tier cities also have their advantages, some have abundant resource, like mineral or other special metal, some lower-tier cities have wonderful environment, just like my hometown, Guiyang. It can not only help developing the local tourism but also attract some high technology industries. In addition, it will stimulate tremendous potency with the progress of transportation in these lower-tier cities.

Most important of all, everybody has right to choose what their own life will be. The author of this article wrote, “ In this era of negative growth of population, metropolis will suck blood from their surrounding areas, so that they can survive. Cruel? No, because this is the result of the young vote with their feet.”1 I agree with “vote with their feet" , what I have learned from the class of Public Finance last semester. If there is no limitation of migration and people get hold of the information about all the cities totally, one will choose one place to settle down which matches his 1 This comes from this article 《Get away from your hometown which be doomed to decline》

preference mostly.2 The most ambitious young may choose metropolis as their battlefield; Some people want to accompany their parents more and lead a steady life can choose a secondary city; Even some people really have a rural dream, why can’t they choose a scenic countryside to spend their time. In my view, choosing a city represents your own values and lifestyles you choose and it is your freedom.

In conclusion, this article reflects the social phenomenon indeed, but the way it gave lacks comprehensive consideration. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. We had everything before us, we had nothing before us.3 It can be said that everybody in this society can’t stop escaping if they don’t have the direction in their hearts. “ So where should we go?” No matter which we choose, big cities or small cities, every rational man make their own choice and pay for what he had chose.
