Honorable judges, ladies and gentleman, good afternoon!
Today it’s my great honor here, standing on the stage, to share my view points on “opportunity and challenge”.
The tempo（速度） of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twenty years. While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off
society, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. Instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of competition.
Competition always carries abreast challenges and opportunities to
everyone involved. It might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. Those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a competition really is- will lose something more or less conducive to our growth. Of course, if we take the competition as an opportunity, we will favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us become the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. As a matter of fact,
opportunities are supposed to be more perceptible and welcoming than
challenges. The truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when we
choose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. The other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in competition. We have such an inclination(倾斜) in life to overestimate
ourselves and hold a thoughtless attitude towards the negative outlook of things.
We believe in the old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once," so we always welcome it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. The most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. Why? There are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positions in big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under any circumstances, even though there will be too much uncertainty for their choices. Innumerable cases go straight to the same miserable end: God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers.
In conclusion, to define the quality of competition seems to be far from valuable sense, for no matter what a competition is, an opportunity or a challenge, it will create nutritious elements for our growth.
So take a positive look at everything around. Keep our face to the sunshine, and we will not see the shadows.

Challenge and Responsibility
Hello, everybody! First of all, I want to thank you for your listening
sincerely. The topic of my speech is "Challenge and Responsibility". Next, please follow me to realize the challenge and responsibility in my eyes together.
At the mention of the challenge, there are a lot of things that we can say by the light of nature. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the challenge is a big difficulty that we can overcome or not. For example, it is very urgent to our country's
anti-corruption issue. And the environmental pollution problem is also a challenge that everybody isn't allowed to ignore. In addition, the increasingly serious
employment problem has influenced millions of workers and undergraduates. What's more, serious sex ratio imbalance and the aging of population phenomenon has been worse and worse. There is no doubt that these problems aren't beneficial to maintain social stability and improve person's happiness. As a result, I called them all to challenge.
I know, most of all probably think it is only the responsibility of the
government and they don't worry about these problems at all. However, I can't agree with that "The rise and fall, fortunes" more. As a citizen of the People's Republic of China, as a young college student, as a replacement for the motherland in the future, we are allowed to be positive to bear the burden. Not only the core values of

For instance, Fan Zhongyan practiced "Sorrow and the sorrow of the world first, after the world of joy but joy. " throughout his life.
Besides, as a teenager, Zhou Enlai was determined to study for the rise of the Chinese. We have to acknowledge the fact that there is a sense of responsibility for the country in Chinese mind. There is no doubt that we are willing to see this kind of phenomenon. Only we clear our own responsibility, could we find a way to meet these challenges.
As is known to all, challenge and responsibility are often companions. So, the problem is here. What do you think should we do when we face the challenge? Just keep a sense of responsibility? Oh, no! As far as I am concerned, we needn't only a strong sense of responsibility, but also an ability to take responsibility, meet the challenge. Then how to cultivate the ability for us to overcome the challenge? First, we should keep a balanced diet and do sports every day to keep healthy. After all, health is the source of revolution. Second, we are allowed to strive to learn
professional skills, because knowledge is power. Third, we should develop a sound personality and exercise their interpersonal skills. Fourth, it is important for us to cultivate optimistic state of mind. Please believe that "Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see a shadow". Comrades, let's back the responsibility of their bags, smile and meet the challenge!

Opportunity and Challenge
Honorable judges, ladies and gentleman, good afternoon!
Today it’s my great honor here, standing on the stage, to share my view points on “opportunity and challenge”.
First of all: Definitions of the opportunity and challenge.
So, what’s an opportunity? Opportunity is a time when a particular situation makes it possible to do or achieve something. It is not accomplish of our goal, it may be just a good begninning; it is not achievement of another seashore, it may be just the fair-weather on the day we set out; it is ont a matter of flowers, applause or success, it is a great chance which god provides us, helps us to realize our dreams, it is an advantage we won over for our success, it may be just a platform to show ourselves, maybe just a proper position. But if you are right at a window of an opportunity, “take it, seize it and make good use of it.” I believe in an old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once",everyone is longing for an opportunity, but once an opportunity goes by, cause of some objective or subjective reasons, they hesitate, thereby, time flies and opportunity is gone. It is too late when you realize this problem, but the opportunity never returns. So, when an opportunity comes, grab it tightly, and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers.
Then, what about challenge? Challenge is a new or difficult task which test our ability and skill. It is not just hurdles on the way, it is the spirit of drawing sword; it is a chance to say “I can”, it is a fighter, a sense of courage, the fearless spirit towards all difficulties, it is the untamed spirit resourced from our deep inside. Many people are afraid of challenging or being challenged, worry about change, failure or other factors. But I think as a human, we should welcome challenging and as a man, we should welcome being challenged. We should be challenging, there are so many things arounds us which should be broken, such as the old, the stereotype, research fields and so on. The more challenging the better, the more challenging, the more chances we get to improve our world. Also we should enjoy being challenged. It is a world full of competitions, if you avoid it deliberately, you will fall behind very quickly. If you are challenged, first rule, don’t be frustrated. If you are right, it’s a victory for you and if you are wrong or say not perpect, it’s also an supplementary for you or your knowledge, you have also learned a lot of things. What did you lose! It’s a win-win strategy! Why feel frustrated? So, enjoy being challenged, it’s also a state of mind which make you to improve.
Secondly, what’s the relationship between the opportunity and challenge?
It’s obviously that these two themes always come along. No challenge,
no opportunity, vice versa. Every Chinese people will never forget that during the 2008 summer Olympic games held in Beijing, eyes all over the world were focused on our country. Hosting the Olympics presents a range of opportunities, of coures, together with many challenges such as environment, international relations, urban development and so on. Another example, along with the opportunity, with the high speed of our country’s financial development, we meet with many challenges, say, severve problems such as inflation recently, high unemployment rate, medical insurance problems, etc. So these two themes always comes along, only by dealing with both of them properly can we develop continiously.
All in a word, hold the opportunity tightly, face the challenge bravely and adjust your state of mind, success is right at the corner!
