篇一：美国人怎么过万圣节
每年的10月31日是万圣节前夕，也叫做万圣夜（Halloween)。它已变成美国一年中最流行和最受欢迎的节日之一，许多玩家都以极大的热情来庆祝这一节日。每当万圣夜到来，孩子们都会迫不及待地穿上五颜六色的化妆服，戴上千奇百怪的面具，提着一盏“杰克灯”走家窜户，向大人们索要节日的礼物。万圣节最广为人知的象征也正是这两样——奇异的“杰克灯”和“不给糖就捣乱”的恶作剧。
万圣节南瓜灯（杰克灯）的样子十分可爱，做法也极为简单。将南瓜掏空，然后在外面刻上笑眯眯的眼睛和大嘴巴，再在瓜中插上一支蜡烛，把它点燃，人们在很远的地方便能看到这张憨态可掬的笑脸。这可是孩子们最喜欢的玩物了。然而万圣夜的重头戏还是在餐桌上，你既要准备好美食来招待那些前来捣乱的“小鬼”，更要在这个特别的节日为你的餐桌装扮一番。千万不要让你的客人们小瞧了你哦！

在美国，每到十月底临近万圣节时，农场、超市、街边礼品店，到处都是南瓜的踪影。曾有从中国来美国旅游的朋友不明就里地问：这是有南瓜节么?
仔细想想，可不是？与其说万圣节是人在过节，还不如说是南瓜在过节。
有时甚至胡思乱想，十月底正是南瓜大量上市的时节，最初的万圣节，是不是某位南瓜滞销的农场主想出来的促销手段哟！先有南瓜还是先有万圣节？

万圣节南瓜的典故
万圣节除了上街搞鬼，少不了大大小小的南瓜灯装饰，不过为何是西瓜、冬瓜或萝卜，而是南瓜呢？
根据典故，爱尔兰有个名叫Jack的男子，某天，他和恶灵在酒吧喝酒，两人酒足饭饱后却没钱付帐，Jack将恶灵禁锢起来，经过恶灵苦苦哀求，Jack要求恶灵答应不骚扰他，他才放恶灵走。
后来，Jack去世，他的灵魂上不了天堂，只好去地狱求恶灵收留，恶灵认为是Jack自己说不要再有瓜葛，所以拒绝接受Jack的请求，只给了他一根小蜡烛照亮着，指引其在天地之间倘佯。这根小蜡烛是在一根挖空的萝卜里放着，称作“JACK LANTERNS”，后来苏格兰小孩“有样学样”，也挖空萝卜放蜡烛点灯。
这个习俗传到美国后，人们发现圆圆胖胖的的南瓜更适合当空心灯笼。所以自然就变成南瓜的天下，南瓜灯也成为万圣节最应景的道具之一。
现在，如果在万圣节的晚上，谁家如果窗户上挂上南瓜灯就表明那些穿着万圣节服装的人可以来敲门捣鬼要糖果。因为孩子们都有化妆，假如遇上调皮捣蛋的孩子，他们甚至会来好几次讨要东西，好在大人们也并不在意，所以这一天最快乐的就是孩子们了。
除了南瓜灯以外，人们为了把传说中这天晚上会出来害人的鬼魂、幽灵和女巫吓跑，还会在自己的家门前放上黑猫、骷髅、鬼怪、墓碑以及鬼魂之类的装饰品，年轻人打扮成各种妖魔鬼怪的样子参加Party。
