@译精精：这个版本太追求word for word，完全是一对一的字面翻译，忽略了中英两种语言在使用习惯上的不同。英语里可以用这种A and B的方式来描述符合要求的对象（即“他信任的人”），但如果B包含了像few这样实际表示否定的表达（few是否定，a few是肯定，不要搞混），那就相当于符合要求的对象只有A。在实际翻译的时候，要把A和B对立起来，显示出他们性质的不同。如果套用英文方式去翻译，听起来必定是“怪怪的”了，因为在英语里and表示两者并列、性质相同，而不是两者对立、性质不同。
建议翻为：除了最亲密的朋友，他几乎谁都不信。。

Why have you chosen to undertake postgraduate study in your field at UCAS ? One of the most important problems college students in Grade 4 face is deciding what to do after graduation. It was indeed an annoying problem when it came to me. After turning over for a long time, I decided to go for further education. There are three main reasons why I chose to undertake postgraduate study in my field at UCAS.
Firstly, I have to say that getting a higher degree is the only way for rural children out of poverty. There is a concept in Chinese people's mind that the higher education you get, the better life you will have in the future. From the view of mine, I think if I obtained a master's degree, I would be more competitive when applying a relative better job and get a better starting for my future career.
Secondly, I chose UCAS as the institution where I undertake my postgraduate study for the reason that it is a leading academic institution and comprehensive research and development center in natural science, technological science and high-tech innovation in China. It is such an excellent place to do research work that my researching and working ability will be both improved greatly. I think I will get a better scientific achievement at UCAS than one achieved in a general school.
Last but not least, I am in favor of my major as well as the lovely ocean. However the ocean is getting worse because of human beings' ueasonable utilization and serious pollution. I want to try my best to provide some help on improving the situation. While I believe that the knowledge I have learned in my undergraduate school is too little to work well in my field. For this reason, I made my choice to get further education in the field of marine chemistry. I hope to constantly
expand my knowledge of ocean and develop more practical skills about marine exploration and utilization without damaging the marine environment. I am confidence in that it will pay for my effort.

There is a concept in Chinese people's mind that the higher education you get, the better life you will have in the future. As far as I am concerned, if I obtain a master's degree, I will be more competitive when applying a relative better job and get a better starting for my future career.
On the other hand, I chose GDUT as the institution where I undertake my postgraduate study is that it is a leading academic institution and comprehensive research and development center in natural science, technological science and high-tech innovation in China. It is such an excellent place to do research work that my researching and working ability will be both improved to the most degree. I believe that I will get a better scientific achievement at GDUT than those who just achieved in a general school without doubt.
In a word, it is out of question that I will learn a lot and widen my knowledge in mechanical engineering of robot. As we know, robot will play an important part in future’s life, and Guangzhou is one of the modernist and the most developed cities in
the world , studying in GDUT is definitely the best choice in my life.
