E-mail

E-mail

Thank you for contacting us.

Thank you for your prompt reply. 如果回复并不及时,只要将“prompt”除去即可,你还可以说,“Thank you for getting back to me.”

Thank you for providing the requested information.

Thank you for all your assistance. 如果你想对他们表示特别的感激,就用这个句子,“I truly appreciate … your help in resolving the problem.”Thank you raising your concerns. 同时,你也可以使用,“Thank you for your feedback.”

Thank you for your kind cooperation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you again for everything you've done.

1、

Dear John,

In my previous e-mail I wrote I was coming to Taichung tomorrow afternoon. But I'm sorry I have to cancel the appointment, because my uncle passed away last night and I have to go to Tao-yuan to attend the funeral tomorrow. Will you please let me know if our meeting can be rescheduled for the afternoon of next Thursday or Friday, whichever is convenient for you? Thanks.

Jack Chen

2、

Dear John,

I'm coming to Taichung next week, and want to see you at your office sometime around 5:00 p.m. on Mon., May 25.

Hope this is OK with you. If not, let me know by e-mail asap. T.I.A. Jack Chen

3、

Dear Jane:

soy burgers that you asked me for in your e-mail last night:

Cook 5 cups of soy beans in a pressure cooker for about 45 minutes. Drain the cooked beans in a strainer. Mash the beans with a potato masher and add while mashing:

2 tsps. salt

3/4-1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 tsp. pepper

1 tbsp. garlic powder

2 tsps. oregano

1 tsp. basil

1 onion, finely chopped

1 green pepper, finely chopped

Mix well. The mix should be quite stiff. To make patties, roll mix into a small ball, a little larger than a golf ball. Then flatten the ball to 1/2 inch thick. Fry in a generous amount of oil, so they'll be crisp. Makes 16 soy burgers.

Good luck, Jane!

5、Dear Dr. Wonder:

Thank you very much for sending me your latest book, the Rise and Fall of American Business.

As far as I know, this book is the most outstanding and practical guidance for foreign investors hoping to start a new business in the U.S. It also clearly tells us how not to follow the examples of some of the declining American enterprises that had once been prosperous. Above all, I was most impressed by the depth and extent of your understanding of the intricate mechanisms of international business.

Thank you again for your kindness, and I wish you all the success you deserve.

Sincerely yours,

Jack Chen

6、Dear John,

(^_^)

I very much appreciate this gift and thank you once again for sending it to me.

Best regards,

7、According to Chinese folklore, the year 20** is the year of the Mouse, and they say that a mouse is a harbinger of wealth and prosperity that are yet to come. May 20** bring you everything you deserve, and may our friendship last long!

8、

I hope this e-mail finds you well. It's been almost five years since we last met. How have you been? Is Jane still studying Chinese? Your daughter,

Anne, must be quite a lady now.

The year 2004 was a good year for us. Hwei-jeng is still teaching English at a local high school. Last year she published her first English textbook. It's not selling well, but she is proud of it, and so am I. Chi-wei is now 18 and will be a college student next September. Time really flies, doesn't it!

Anyway, I just want you to know that we're thinking of you and your family on Christmas and remembering all the good times we had together. Hwei-jeng and I send you our very best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Jack Chen

9、Dear Mr. Doe:

As 2004 draws to a close, may I take a moment to say thank you so much for the support you have given us throughout the year. May all the joys and blessings of Christmas be yours, and may the coming year bring you prosperity and happiness!

With my best personal regards,

Jack Chen

Hope everything is just as fine with you and your family. Is Jane still learning Chinese? I believe your daughter, Anne, is a college student now. Is she attending a Taiwanese college, or did she go back to the States? Well, write to me once in a while and let me know what's new. Keep in touch! Your buddy, as ever

Dear John,

I've just heard of the loss of your father, and I hasten to send you my sincere condolences.

Sincerely yours,

Jack Chen

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith:

Thank you so much for the lovely flowers and good wishes you sent my daughter last week.

Hwei-ling was particularly happy when she saw that they came from you. She read your very heart-warming get-well card time and again, and asked

me to tell you how much it meant to her. The doctors say that Hwei-ling is improving rapidly and that she will soon be able to leave the hospital--perhaps in a month or so.

My husband joins me in sending our sincere appreciation for the flowers and, most of all, for the cheerful NOTES of encouragement. They were like a breath of fresh air, and I'm sure they did my daughter a world of good. Thank you again.

Sincerely yours,

Jessie Lee

Dear John,

I've just heard from Jane that you're in the hospital, but I'm glad your illness wasn't worse and that you'll soon be out of the hospital and back with your family. That's good news!

Jane told me you are now getting so well that you are even playing with your Mac in the hospital bed, writing a journal and browsing through the Internet. So I thought it was a good idea to send you e-mail to say hello and perhaps to keep you posted as to what's going on in the office while you're away.

I'll write you again soon. In the meantime, take it easy and have a good rest!

Sincerely,

Jack Chen

Sincerely,

Jack Chen

这就是Internet(因特网,国际互联网)。 在网上最常使用的服务就是E-mail(电子邮件,electronic mail,常缩略为E-mail,e-mail或email),这是因为电子邮件不但使用方便、传播快捷、可以一信多发,而且价格十分低廉,特别适合国际间的交流。

像News about the meeting 这样的表达,应改为Tomorrow's meeting canceled。 看信的内容是否重要,还可以开头加上URGENT或者FYI(For Your Information,供参考),如:URGENT:Submit your report today!

Smith。

Best

regards'。

Jimmy,

I received your memo and will discuss it with Eric on Wednesday. Best,

David
