英文投稿过程中的十种状态
1. Submitted to Journal
当上传结束后，显示的状态是Submitted to Journal，这个状态是自然形成的无需处理。
2. With editor
如果在投稿的时候没有要求选择编辑，就先到主编那里，主编会分派给别的编辑。这当中就会有另两个状态：
① Editor assigned 编辑分派
② Editor Declined Invitation 编辑拒绝邀请，这时主编不得不将投稿文章重新分派给其它编辑。
3. Reviewer(s) invited
说明编辑已接手处理，正在邀请审稿人中。有时该过程会持续很长时间，如果其中原因是编辑一直没有找到合适的审稿人，这时投稿者可以向编辑推荐审稿人。
4. Under review
审稿人的意见已上传，说明审稿人已接受审稿，正在审稿中，这应该是一个漫长的等待（期刊通常会限定审稿人审稿时间，一般为一个月左右）。当然前面各步骤也可能很慢的，要看编辑的处理情况。如果被邀请审稿人不想审，就会decline，编辑会重新邀请别的审稿人。
5. required review completed
审稿结束，等编辑处理，该过程短则几天，长则无期，科学堂有一篇文章出现required review completed状态已近一个月了，还是没有消息。
6. Decision in Process
到了这一步就快要有结果了，编辑开始考虑是给修改还是直接拒，当然也有可能直接接受的，但可能性很小，呵呵。
7. Minor revision/Major revision
小修/大修，这个时候可以稍微庆祝一下了，因为有修改就有可能。具体怎么改就不多说了，谦虚谨慎是不可少的（因为修改后一般会再发给审稿人看，所以一定要细心的回答每一个审稿人的每一个问题，态度要谦逊，要让审稿人觉得他提的每个问题都很有水准的，然后针对他的问题，一个一个的做出答复，能修改的就修改，不能修改的给出理由，而且都要列出来，文章的哪一段哪一行修改了最好都说出来，记住：给审稿人减少麻烦就是给你自己减少麻烦！另注：有时，审稿人会在修改意见里隐讳里说出要你仔细阅读某几篇文献，这时可要注意了，其中某些文章可能就是评审者自己发表的，这时你最好在你的修改稿中加以引用），修改后被拒绝的例子也多不胜数的。
8. Revision Submitted to Journal
修改后重新提交，等待编辑审理。
9. Accepted
如果不要再审，只是小修改，编辑看后会马上显示这个状态，但如果要再审也会有上面的部分状态。一步会比较快，但也有慢的。看杂志的。
10. Rejected
相信大家见了Rejected，都会很郁闷。但也不要太灰心，耐心将评审意见看完，一般评审者会给出有益的建议，相信看后你会有所收获。
In the Rapid Review? system, your manuscript has a different status assigned to it at various stages in the process. Below is a list of the status descriptions used with brief explanations.
Incomplete Submission... you have begun the submission process. The submission has been assigned a temporary (TMP) manuscript number. You must complete the submission process.
Finish My Submission... by viewing and approving the MS PDF. Once this is done, the submission will be assigned a permanent manuscript number.
MS at Check-In... the manuscript is pending a quality check by the staff or editor. This involves verifying that the MS PDF contains a complete manuscript (text, tables, figures, etc.) and is suitable for review purposes.
Conversion to PDF in Process... If the manuscript was submitted digitally, the MS PDF did not pass the QC process and is not suitable for review purposes. The staff may be in the process of converting the digital files to a new MS PDF or staff may have requested that the author send new file(s). The Journal Office is waiting for the file(s) to upload for conversion purposes.
MS Being Pre-screened... if you submitted a manuscript to a journal whose review process includes pre-screening, this status indicates that the manuscript (or the abstract) is currently being pre-screened to determine its appropriateness for the journal.
MS In Review... the manuscript has been assigned to an editor and may be awaiting reviewer selections, or the awaiting reviews.
Decision Pending... the manuscript has been reviewed and the editor is in the process of making a decision.
MS in Revision (Optional)... a decision to accept the paper with optional revisions (as suggested in the reviewer or editor comments) has been made by the editor, and a letter requesting these revisions has been sent to the author. Resubmission is anticipated.
MS in Revision (Minor)... a decision to accept the paper with minor revisions (as suggested in the reviewer or editor comments) has been made by the editor, and a letter requesting these revisions has been sent to the author. Resubmission is anticipated.
MS in Revision (Major)... a decision to reconsider the paper after major revisions (as suggested in the reviewer or editor comments) has been made by the editor, and a letter requesting these revisions has been sent to the author. Resubmission is permitted.
MS Rejected... a decision to decline publication has been made by the editor, and a rejection letter has been sent to the author.
MS Accepted... a decision to accept the paper has been made by the editor, and an acceptance letter has been sent to the author.
MS Withdrawn... the manuscript has been withdrawn at the author's request. No resubmission is permitted. Any further version must be considered as a brand new submission.
MS Deactivated... the manuscript has been deactivated due to the author's non-response in
resubmitting a revised version or, in some instances, to the editor's invitation to submit a solicited paper.
MS Published... the review process is complete and the manuscript is awaiting publication or it has already been published.
Invitation/Submit Invited Paper... the editor has extended to you an invitation to submit a paper on a proposed topic. You are asked to reply by using the "Reply to Invitation" button. If you and the editor are in agreement, you can submit the invited paper by using the "Submit Invited MS" button.

投稿的时候你会看到很多状态，with review 一般在审稿人那里。有时也会说under reviw 同样的意思。
1. Submitted to Journal这是投稿时显示的第一个状态，也是系统生成的，说明你的稿件已经上传到编辑部。
2. With editor这种状态代表编辑已经看到你的投稿件的信息，在此要考虑应该让谁来审理你的稿件。
3. Under review及with editor
这种状态代表稿件在审稿人那里，正在审阅。但是如果审稿人对此文章不了解不想审，就会退给编辑，编辑会重新邀请别的审稿人。
4. required review completed 这种状态代表审稿结束，等编辑处理接受与否。
5. Minor revision/Major revision 这种状态代表审稿人做出的决定让你小修改或者大修改文章。
6. Revision Submitted to Journal 这是要求修改稿送给编辑，重复以上状态。但是有可能也不重复，如果审稿人给你提的问题都是无关紧要的问题，那么编辑回自己做出最后接受的决定。不会再分配给审稿人
“Editor invited” 是 邀请/安排合适的负责你文章的编辑 的意思
“Editor assigned”是 已经为你的文章确定好了编辑，下一步这个编辑会对你的稿件进行进一步的处理，
状态是Assessment by Editorial Office ，事件是Manuscript received by Editorial Office ，编辑评价后送审，目前还没有过编辑评价这一关，如果编辑认为文章的质量基本可以送审了，那么就会under review了
Technical Check in Progress 编辑在检查你文章中句子及语法有没有问题
Needing revise, 必须按照审稿人的要求仔细修改,认真回答问题列表上的所有问题.编辑的信请你仔细看看.上面有告诉你的.是否需要重审.一般你按照审稿人的全部要求修改得好的话.不用再审的.比如仅仅是英语句法等小问题.
Decision in Process是编辑做决定的状态，如果是刚刚投稿，或者会送审，或者直接拒稿；如果是投稿一段时间了，一般是审稿意见都回来了，这时由编辑更加审稿人意见决定是否修改还是修改，如果审稿人意见相左，也有可能需要再次送审。

美式英语中的连读和略读
同化
同化是两个音相互作用，导致最后产生另外一个音的现象，这样可以使句子显得更流畅。
1. /s/+/j/→/?/ 如：this year等

2. /z/+/j/→/?/

What brings you here? 什么风把你刮到这儿来了？ I’m not gonna lose you again.
3. /t/+/j/→/?/ 如：congratulation、last year等
（1） Nice to meet you.很高兴见到你。（第二次见面就说Nice to see you.）
（2） What you doing? 你在做什么？
4. /d/+/j/→/?/ 如：education等
（1）Pinned ya. 压在你身上了。（《狮子王》中的一句台词，听起来是/?pin??/。这两个单词包含的发音规则有弱读+同化。）
（2）How did you like it? 你觉得怎样？
连读
在正常英语口语中，连读现象比比皆是。有些较短的句子听起来简直就像一个单词，所以学好连读是通向流利英语必经之路。
1.词尾辅音+词首元音
这种连读最常见也最简单，把相邻的两个单词想象成一个单词即可。
（1） I’m so fed up with him. 他让我烦透了。
（2） I’ve already made up my mind. 我意已决。
（3） That is so gross [ɡr?us].太俗了。
（4） Turn on the juice. 合上开关，恢复通电。（juice也有电的意思）
2.词尾元音+词首元音
A：以/u/、/?/、/au/、/o/结尾的单词与跟在后面的元音连读时，两个元音之间加上一个较轻的/w/,这样过渡就会很自然。
（1） Just
（2） It’s snowing. 下雪了。
（3） Don’t blow it. 别搞砸了。
（4） So easy. 太简单了。
B：如果单词结尾是/i/、/ai/、/e/结尾并与其后的元音连读，则两个元音见带上一个较弱的/j/。
（1） My aunt will come to see us today.姑妈今天回来看我们。
（2） I hate to say it， but you really should pay me back the money. 我
真的不想说这个，但是你借我的钱应该还给我了。
不完全爆破
发音方法为：第一个爆破音不发声，只需做出发音的姿势，稍作停顿马上过渡到下一个音。例如，Goodbye中的/d/就不能发出声来，如果读成/gud’bai/就会显得很生硬。
(一) 爆破音+爆破音
6个爆破音中任意两个紧挨在一起，则第一个爆破音失去爆破。

（四） 鼻腔爆破
其发音要领为：/t/或/d/与/n/同时发音，两者相互作用导致鼻腔爆破，最后发出的音既不是/t/或/d/,也不是单独的/n/。
1. I feel like I am not important to you. 我感觉我对你一点也不重要。
2. I lost my student ID card.
我的学生证丢了。

舌边爆破 1. You are absolutely right. 你完全正确。
2. We are free at last! 我们终于自由了！
弱读
对于大多数同学，弱读是一个很陌生的概念，因为我们的英语老师很少讲这个知识，所以大家说英语时几乎对每个英语单词（除了the和a）都采用的了强读形式。可是真正说英语时全部都是强读，则整个句子必然没有节奏，没有婉转的感觉，枯燥无味。
弱读的一半规则：元音一次弱化之后主要是变为/?/，二次弱化后这个音就消失了；辅音弱化后也消失了。
下面介绍常用单词的弱读形式

缩读
大部分的缩读情况可以理解为弱读+连读。如果能够灵活运用弱读和缩读的话，那么你的口语又会更上一层楼了。

口语要素 1. You can say that again. 你说的没错。
2. Give me a break. 别逗了。
3. I’ll say. 的确。（Yes, definitely.）
4. Nothing doing! 没门！
5. Call him off. 叫他收手吧。
BONUS and的弱读
我们读英语时每当碰到and时，一般都会读作/?nd/，殊不知，在美语口语里面，and通常只需弱读为/?n/,甚至是一个简单的鼻音/n/。当说话者需要强调时则会把and读作/?nd/.如果能够掌握好这个发音规则，我们的口语将更加流畅，听力理解也更加畅听无阻。
